Registration Policies
Can I get a refund if I cannot run?
It is our policy that no refund of registration fees or deferrals will be issued.
When you register, you have the option to purchase an insurance policy from Reg Shield for a small fee. This policy will allow you to cancel your registration if you are unable to make it to the race due to illness, unexpected travel and various other reasons. To initiate a claim if you are not able to race this year please follow this link to connect directly with the insurer.
Participants must pick up their bib and race kit on the Friday or Saturday before the race. There is no kit pick up on race morning.
Transfers (person to person and sub event)
Transfer to a friend can be done via the Race Roster event page up until April 10, 2026 for a fee of $5.00 plus processing fees. Personal sub event transfers are also done on this page with the difference in registration fees charged if transferring to a longer distance. The difference is not refunded if going down in distance.
Transfers after April 10th can only be done at race kit pick up, Friday or Saturday.
The original participant sends the new participant their bib number and text permission to pick up the bib and transfer the registration. Only the new participant needs to go to kit pick up. The new participant will collect the original bib and take it to the Help Desk to transfer the registration.

Race Shirt
You have the option to purchase a Beneva Mississauga Marathon branded ASICS technical t-shirt during registration or in the online store. ASICS souvenir Beneva Mississauga Marathon shirts are made from a tri-blend knit fabric (Polyester, Cotton, Rayon) with a stretch component that also feels soft against your skin.
Age Restrictions
Participants must be 16 years old by race day to register and participate in the half marathon and 18 years old to participate in the Beneva Mississauga Marathon.
For the Trillium Health Partners 10K and Mississauga 5K there are no age restrictions to participate however, children under 12 on race day must be accompanied by a registered adult participant.

Pre-Race / Registration
Can I get a refund if I cannot run?
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-deferrable. Options:
- You may transfer to another sub event, or
- You may transfer to a friend
Both transfers can be done online through your Race Roster dashboard until April 11th.
We offer the option to purchase registration insurance that protects your registration purchase if you are unable to attend the event due to unforeseen circumstances. If you have purchased registration insurance from RegShield contact them directly with the policy info you were sent with your purchase.
We do not offer deferrals for a future race.
Can I register on race day?
Online registration closes on April 20th at 10:00 pm. If we have not reached capacity registrations will be accepted during race kit pick up hours. There will be no registrations on race day.
What is a CelePLATE?
CelePLATE is a plate laser engraved with your name and finish time that fits neatly in the recess on the back of your keepsake Beneva Mississauga Marathon medal. You can order your a CelePLATE when you register or visit the store on the Race Roster event page to purchase. Your CelePLATE will be sent via Canada Post within 2 weeks of the race. At this time we anticipate slower delivery times.
Why can’t I find any walking categories?
Walkers are welcome in all events! There is no separate walker registration category and no separate timing category.
I purchased RegShield and would like to initiate a claim.
When you purchase a protection policy during the registration process, you will receive an email directly from them with the information on how to file a claim. If you did not see the email, you may follow this link to initiate your claim.
How do I transfer my registration to a friend?
To transfer your entry to new participant complete the following steps:
- Sign into your Race Roster Account.
- Click ‘view registration’ for the event and click ‘transfer’.
- Click ‘Transfer to new participant’.
- Enter email address of transfer recipient.
- The individual receiving the transfer will now get an email with further instructions to complete the transfer.
A $5 transfer fee will be applied. Payment of the registration fee to the original participant is a peer-to-peer transaction and is not done through Race Roster.
Last day for online transfers is April 11th.
How do I change my race distance?
To change your race distance log into your Race Roster dashboard and click on Transfer Registration from the left hand menu. Follow instructions for transferring to your registration. A $5 processing fee will be charged.

Race Kit Pick Up
Do participants receive a shirt?
Shirts are not included in the registration fee. Participants have the option to purchase a Beneva Mississauga Marathon shirt during the registration process or from the Race Roster online store.
Where do I pick up my race kit?
Race kits can be picked up during the hours listed on our website on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25. There will be no kit pick up at the start line on race day. Mississauga Civic Centre is the location for kit pick up.
Can I pick up more than one race kit?
If you would like to pick up a race kit for a friend, be sure to print off their registration confirmation or ask them to send you a text with that info. We set a maximum of 3 additional race kits when picking up your own kit. Contact us in advance for special accommodations.
Race Day
May I pick up my race kit on race day?
All participants must pick up their race kit during race kit pick up hours. There will be no race kits available at the start line.
How does bag check work?
Bag check will be in a large tent in Celebration Square. Tear off your baggage tag from the bottom of your bib and attach it to your bag. Your bag will be held securely until your return. You’ll be asked to show your bib to collect your items. We ask that you be mindful of the items you are checking; no valuables and keep size to a minimum.
Marathon bag check will be in the same location but loaded on to a truck (look for the signs). Items will be brought to the marathon finish. Bags must be checked PRIOR TO 7:15AM to get on the truck to the marathon finish.
There is no charge for bag check.
What is the difference between chip time and gun time?
Gun Time: The time from the sound of the starters signal to the time when the runner crosses the finish line. Also known as the Official Time. All award categories use gun time as the official result.
Real Time, Chip Time: The time from when the runner crosses the starting mat at the start line, to the time elapsed when the runner crosses the finish mat.
Are there spectator shuttles?
There are no shuttles to take spectators to the marathon finish at Lakefront Promenade, however there is plenty of free parking at the marathon finish for spectators to cheer on their marathoner!
Are there shuttle buses for the marathon finish?
Yes, enjoy a comfortable ride back to Celebration Square after your marathon finish in a coach bus. Buses will be located just 100m from the marathon finish line at Lakefront Promenade Park.
What are the parking options for the start line?
There is ample, free parking around Celebration Square.
A short walk to the start line, the lot (Square One – P6) at the corner of Rathburn Road and Duke of York, is available to participants on race day. Other locations for race day parking are; 33, 55 and 77 City Centre Dr. and 2, 3 and 4 Robert Speck Parkway. Check back closer to the event for more options.
Will there be Pacers for the marathon and half marathon distances?
Yes, we are happy to offer a pacer program for the full and half to help you meet your goals.
Half Marathon Pacer Times: 1:30, 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20, 2:30, and 2:40
Full Marathon Pacer Times: 3:10, 3:20, 3:30, 3:40, 3:50, 4:00, 4:10, 4:20, 4:30, 4:40, 4:50 and 5:00
Pacers are supplied by CRIT Running Club.
Can I participate with a guide/service animal?

On Course
Are strollers allowed on course? May I participate with my dog?
For everyone’s safety and comfort neither strollers or dogs are permitted on the course.We appreciate your cooperation.

Who receives a medal?
Everyone who crosses the finish line!
When and where are the awards handed out?
Awards will be presented at the marathon finish at Lakefront Promenade Park – time TBD, and at Celebration Square for the half marathon, 10K and 5K. Time TBD.
Do walkers get a timed result?
There is no separate walking category and there are no awards for walkers, however if those walking and finish their distance within the posted time limit they will have their time posted in results.
