Third Annual Mississauga Marathon Scotiabank Charity Challenge is Now Live!

Mississauga, ON –The 2015 Mississauga Marathon Scotiabank Charity Challenge is now up and running. Fundraisers and donors are now able to sign up to support one of our 18 charity partners.

This fundraising program allows participants to personalize their own fundraising page with a fundraising goal, pictures and videos, send emails to friends and family asking for their support, build a fundraising team and enter offline donations. Participants can also share their personalized fundraising page on social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. As part of the program, Scotiabank will provide a donation for the top charity in each of the following categories:

– $2000 to the charity with the highest fundraising total
– $2000 to the charity with the largest Fundraising team (minimum of $20.00 raised per member)
– $2000 to the charity with the highest average fundraising per runner average (minimum 10 members)

Over the past two years, more than 850 participants have fundraised while taking part in one of the seven events within the Mississauga Marathon on behalf of one of our charity partners. In 2014, this program was a great success once again with the support of participants, families, friends and spectators, the total raised was over $148,000 for 22 local and national charities. Team World Vision led the way with over 100 fundraisers.

“Team World Vision is thrilled to defend our title as the largest charity team at the Mississauga Marathon” says Team World Vision Coordinator, Leo Tang. “Young and old, 2K to Full Marathoners, our runners had an incredible experience last year.  I highly recommend the Mississauga Marathon to any charity looking to partner with an event that is super well-organized and that runs through the beautiful streets of Mississauga.”
