Road Closures Notification,
Weekend, May 15 - 16, 2010

Dear Mississauga Resident,

On Sunday, May 16, from 7:00am to 2:00pm, expect delays if you plan to travel on or near the event course. Please see details below. Peel Regional Police, Mississauga Fire Services and Peel Ambulance are assisting with the event. In case of an emergency there will be no effect on service. If you need to travel, plan ahead and please be safe and courteous to runners and police. Come out and cheer thousands of runners.

Mississauga residents whose postal code beginning with L5L

Promontory Crescent Area Residents
Severely restricted access to Burnhamthorpe Rd from 7:00am to 9:30am.
Parking overnight is permitted on streets north of Burnhamthorpe Rd for this event.

Mississauga Road Residents
Severely restricted access to Mississauga Rd. from 7:00am to 9:30am.
Access to Mississauga Rd. southbound to Dundas St. is for emergency use only and as directed by Peel Regional Police.

Mississaugua Golf Club Area Residents
No access to Mississauga Rd. from 8:00am to 10:30am.
Access to Mississauga Rd. southbound to North Sheridan Way is for emergency use only and as directed by Peel Regional Police

Mississauga Road, South of QEW
Traffic permitted northbound on Mississauga Rd. to QEW eastbound ramp only, as per police discretion, 8:00am – 11:00am

West side of Mississauga Road, South of QEW
Exit/access area via Wateska Blvd. Via Indian Rd./Indian Grove/South Sheridan Way
Traffic permitted northbound on Mississauga Rd. to QEW eastbound ramp only, as per police discretion, 8:00am – 10:30am
Atoka Dr. residents are permitted to park on Wateska Blvd. overnight
Indian Rd. at Mississauga Rd. CLOSED 7:30am to 11:00 am.

Kane Rd. Area Residents
Residents north of Indian Rd.: Expect Delays along Indian Rd. Travel on Lorne Park Rd. between Truscott Dr. and Indian Rd. NOT permitted from 8:00 am to 11:00am: Best exit/access to area is to get to South Sheridan Way, west to Southdown Rd. Police will control access across Indian Rd. when sufficient gaps are available.
Exit/access area using Mississauga Rd. to Queen St. West
Kane Rd. closed at Indian Rd.
Access to Mississauga Rd. delayed as directed by Peel Regional Police, 8:00am to 11:00am
Travel across Lakeshore Rd is only permitted westbound… expect delays

Residents North of Indian Road
Expect delays along Indian Rd.
Travel on Lorne Park Rd. between Truscott Dr and Indian Rd. NOT permitted from 8:00 am to11:00am
Best exit/access to area is to get to South Sheridan Way, west to Southdown Rd
Police will control access across Indian Rd when sufficient gaps are available

Woodeden Area Residents
Only access/exit is via Woodeden Dr to Indian Rd.
Police will assist traffic anywhere along Indian Rd.
Severely restricted traffic from 8:00 am to 11:00 am

Indian Road Area Residents
Residents on Royal Oaks may park overnight on Crescent Rd.
Access to Indian Rd. via Birch View Dr. and Tecumseh Dr. severely restricted 8:00 am to 11:00 am
Police will control access across Indian Rd when sufficient gaps available

Infinity St. Area Residents
Access to Indian Rd. severely restricted 8:00 am to 11:00 am
Only access/exit is via Infinity St.
Cobalt St. will be closed. Police will control traffic onto Indian Rd., Truscott Rd. between Lorne Park and Southdown Rd.: Best Exit/access to area from the north is via Clarkson Rd. Expect delays from 8:00am to 11:30am. Lakeshore Rd. between Clarkson Rd. and Southdown Rd. is severely restricted from 8:30am to 1:30pm.

Truscott Road, between Lorne Park and Southdown
Best exit/access to area from the north via Clarkson Rd.
Expect delays from 8:00 am to 11:30am
Lakeshore Rd between Clarkson Rd and Southdown Rd. severely restricted from 8:30am to 1:30pm

Lorne Park Estate Residents
Access/exit is via Tennyson Ave. south of Lakeshore Rd
Access restricted from 9:00am to 1:30pm

Balboa Rd. Residents
Access restricted from 9:00am to 1:30pm and only onto Lakeshore Rd.

Maple Avenue, Ben Machree and Pine Ave Area Residents
Access to Lakeshore Rd. WESTBOUND lanes only, via Maple Ave. Eastbound after 10:30am
Access restricted from 9:00am to 12:30 pm.

Orr Road Area Residents
Exit is via Orr Rd. westbound to Southdown Rd. 8:30am to 12:30pm
Meadow Wood Rd at Orr Rd restricted from 8:30am to 12:30pm
Use extreme caution when exiting driveways into running route

Johnson Lane Area Residents
Best exit/access from area via Lakeshore Rd. WESTBOUND lanes only
Restricted traffic on Lakeshore eastbound from 8:30 to 1:30 pm

Residents living between Meadow Wood Rd and Owenwood Dr.
Access/exit is via Bexhill Rd. to Lakeshore Rd.
Police controlled access restricted from 8:30am to 1:30pm

 

Mississauga residents whose postal code beginning with L5G

Cumberland Drive Area Residents
Emergency NO PARKING on Cumberland Dr, Hiawatha Pkwy, Wanita Rd., Onaway Rd and Wenonah Dr.
Resident parking still permitted on surrounding roads.
Access to south side of Cumberland Dr restricted from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
