Every year dedicated volunteers help make the race experience for participants of the Mississauga Marathon presented by Canon memorable and enjoyable. With the help of over 1,100 volunteers in 2007, we executed a well organized, fun-filled race weekend that received accolades from many of our runners.

We need your commitment again in 2008! We expect that the support of 1,500 volunteers will be needed to organize the 2008 Mississauga Marathon.

Volunteer Shifts are:

Age Guidelines

All are welcome to volunteer, but anyone 12 years of age and under requires adult accompaniment, and under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian permission. Additionally, we encourage those under the age of 18 to buddy-up with a friend. Individuals coming out to show their community spirit will definitely have fun. High school students are encouraged to join and earn community service hours on an event-filled rewarding weekend.

Benefits
We understand that without our hard-working team of volunteers, this event could not be possible. In recognition of their tremendous work, all volunteers of the 2008 Mississauga Marathon will receive a T-shirt, chances to win great draw prizes and an invitation to our Volunteer Appreciation Night.

Each year, in conjunction with the Mississauga News, we recognize a “Mississauga News Volunteer of the Year”. In 2007, Mississauga’s Carly Zinck was awarded this distinction. Carly, like all of our volunteers committed precious weekend hours to our race and runners, she kept a smile on all of our faces with her upbeat spirit and charming manner.
