Corporate and Team Relay

Race Kit Pickup

Teams participating in the Corporate & Team Relay are advised to send ONE team member to pick up the race kits for the team. Please make note of your confirmation number and bring that number to the kit pick-up

Saturday May 15, 2010 (10:00am - 5:00pm)

Where: Mississauga Valley Community Centre, 1275 Mississauga Valley Blvd. (east of Hurontario & south of Burnhamthorpe)

   
Start Line & Finish Line
Start Line: East side of Square One Mall at City Centre Drive and Robert Speck Parkway.All Corporate Relay participants (except the FIRST runner) are to meet at the Cawthra Community Centre.
Finish Line: Lakefront Promenade Park, Lakeshore Road, just east of Cawthra Rd.
   
Directions & Parking
Parking in north parking lots of Square One Mall and other retail lots off of Rathburn Road. Approach from the north - west.

Burnhamthorpe, west of Hurontario to Mississauga Rd will be closed by 7:00am. By law enforcement will be ticketing and towing improperly parked vehicles on race weekend.

   
Walking Directions

Walking Directions from Cawthra Community Centre to Lakefront Promenade Park (Finish Line)

It is less than 2K from Cawthra Community Centre to the Finish Area.

  • Walk south on Cawthra Rd. from the community centre to Lakeshore Rd.
  • Cross Lakeshore and proceed west or right to the first street, Aviation Rd.
  • Proceed south on Aviation to the Waterfront Trail. You will be able to walk along the grass through the park toward the finish area.
   
Course Information

The Mississauga Marathon is proud to include in its race weekend events the Corporate and Team Relay Challenge. This event provides a unique opportunity to create a team building experience, which focuses on health and fitness. Hundreds of teams have taken part in the Corporate & Team Relay Challenge, representing companies, families and groups of friends who made a commitment to get fit and have fun! This event has teams of 5 competitors, each covering approximately 8 kilometres, working together to complete the Mississauga Marathon course. All finishers receive a medal, and prizing will be to the top five teams in the event. Course map

Aid stations at approximately every 2km mark

  • Fluids at all stations: Gatorade and water
  • Other aid at stations: Vaseline, bandages

Please Note: A rolling clear will occur at the rate of slightly over 9 minutes/ kilometre (14:30 min/mile). Participants moving slower than this pace will be asked by Police to move onto the sidewalk and proceed to the finish line obeying regular pedestrian road rules.
