Family Fun Run/Walk

Participants can
register on-line or at the Runner’s Expo on Friday
May 9 and Saturday May 11, 2008. Registration
is also possible on Sunday May 11 at the 2K start
line. Registered participants will receive a medal.

start line. There is no parking in the neighbourhood

It is less
than 2K from Cawthra Community Centre to the
Finish Area.
- Walk south on Cawthra Rd. from the community
centre to Lakeshore Rd.
- Cross Lakeshore and proceed
west or right to the first street, Aviation Rd.
- Proceed
south on Aviation to the Waterfront Trail. You
will be able to walk along the grass through
the park
toward the finish area.

Run/Walk the final
2K of the marathon course and enjoy the beauty
of the waterfront and the cheering crowds. Participants
will finish under the marathon finish line banner.

Registered finishers in the The Mississauga News 2K Family Fun Run/Walk will receive
medals. The Mississauga MaraFun has been designed
to encourage young people to get active by running or
walking a total of 42 kilometres over a six week period,
with the final two kilometres run or walked on the
actual marathon route to the cheers of thousands of
spectators. Upon crossing the finish line each
participant will receive a finishers medal and a
certificate of completion. The event is geared towards
kids in grades two through eight and will be completed
through the honour system under the guidance and
verification of a parent, teacher or coach.

Moms & Babies- Strollercize before
race day by working on the 6 week 40K program with your tot
in their stroller! Entering the The Mississauga News 2K Family Fun Run/Walk with
your little one on Sunday, May 11th will finish your MaraFun
program and start your baby on the path to a healthy and
active childhood.
